Foot Notes:
Shoes, Symbolism, and Society
Curator: Danielle Charlap
THE SHOE VAULT by the MIAMI Shoe Museum is honored to have selected pieces from our collection featured in Foot Notes: Shoes, Symbolism, and Society, an exhibition curated by The Wolfsonian–FIU.
Shoes are more than functional objects—they are expressions of identity, innovation, culture, and social change. Drawing from The Wolfsonian's collection and additional courtesy loans, Foot Notes explores the remarkable evolution of footwear during the first half of the twentieth century, uncovering stories where design, technology, politics, and everyday life intersect.
We invite our community, supporters, researchers, and fellow shoe enthusiasts to experience this fascinating exhibition and discover how footwear has helped shape the modern world.
